I've been trying to take more pictures over the last few weeks, and I think I've succeeded (anything more than 0 would be a success!) So, here's what we've got:
The pictures below are from a little outing to Mc Allister Park, an 850 acre urban park a bit to the west of us.
Big gnarly trees are everywhere round here!

Caught in the act of squeezing the juice pouch!
An excellent example of the "ball moss" that clings to almost every tree; we've got plenty of it in our own backyard. Click on it to get a better look... they are these crazy spiky orbs that cling to the branches, and I'm pretty sure they're from outer space.
This is a video to highlight the constant buzz the insects make, it sounds the same at our house as in this park. The video makes it sound deeper in pitch; it is probably actually about an octave higher in real life.
The pictures below are of the San Antonio temple, just as a drive-by. We went to pick up some items from the distribution center across the street (YAY that there is one there!). Megan took the first one from her seat.
This next group of pictures is from the Texas Transportation Museum, also just a little bit south and west of our house. Their main show is the trains; they have a train ride that runs every hour, and the tickets for the museum and the ride are $8... oh, unless you're Active Duty military, then it's FREE! Boo-ya!
Without a doubt the most awesome part of the museum was the two original Pullman cars that were all set up and decked out in their original 1920-1930s glory. Seriously, one thing I have always thought would be so awesome to do is to go for a train ride on cars like these. They had the sleeper car with suites, bathrooms (in suite!), and a lounge and dining room with the kitchen as well. The other car was for the less hoi-palloi, and it had the more regular seating that all folded down into beds. There was also a ladies lounge and a gentlemen's lounge. I took a ton of pictures, but they don't show as much as I would like, and I'm probably more interested in them that you are. Anyway, it was all very Poirot, and I loved it. :-) So, here are just a few pictures of that train:

Next up: Another visit to the Riverwalk! We went to lunch at Casa Rio. It was good and all that, but I realized the only thing remarkable about it is its location on the river with its beautiful brightly colored umbrellas. The food was cafeteria quality, I'd say.

Also at the TTM, They had a Lincoln Continental Convertible. It was something like 18 feet long, I think? Mike would remember. Anyway, I know why they call it a continental. It was HUGE.
An Old Timey firetruck was one of the other many old vehicles there. Also, there were numerous extensive model train communities running, and the very interesting characters who built them sat around there like they were on display, too.
It was pretty stinkin' miserable out, let me tell you.

We did the boat tour thing again. Megan dropped numerous not-so-subtle hints about how she really really wanted to ride the boat again. I snapped off a picture of the Tower of the Americas while we were on it. The other cool picture I took of the big mosaic mural on the side of the convention center accidentally got buh-leted from my camera. :-(
Lastly, here are some pictures from Inflatable World... they do half price admission on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so we went as part of a ward playgroup. There were probably 15 different bouncy castles, none of them just for bouncing... it was crazy.

That's all I got, for now! Someday I might take pictures of my house. Maybe once I finally pick out some living room furniture!

Looks like a lot of fun -- we might just have to come to Texas for a visit.
