Mike took the USMLE step 2 on Saturday August 2, then flew out to San Antonio on August 3rd (his 28th birthday! Happy birthday, oldie-moldie!) where is now doing an Anesthesia rotation at brooke army medical center. He is enjoying all the fun san antonio things such as blistering heat, 24-hour wal-mart super centers, authentic Mexican food, Cici's pizza and Sonic. He's also really enjoying his private hotel room and rental car (which was upgraded for free!) all courtesy of the Army. But despite all this, he is lonely! So send your sad lonely neighborhood Mike an e-mail... mikenorton@byu.net
Megan, Robby and I (Kate) left Wednesday afternoon on an airplane out to the Tri-Cities. We were greeted there by my parents and Drew, who got to meet Robby for the first time. Also my uncle Brian and cousin Jack, who took a quick trip up to visit my parents, were there. They were there for two days, so we had fun with them. Megan liked to play play-dough with cousin Jack, who is 10. She asked him if he wanted to take a bath with her, but we told her that cousins have to be 3 or younger to take baths together (she was remembering when she had a bath with her cousin Josef in June). On Monday we made the switch over to Portland, and we'll be here for about two weeks. During this time, we're looking forward to going to the beach, swimming, seeing Jaclyn and Breelynn, and welcoming Christian home from his mission at the airport! After the end of my time here in oregon, we'll be headed back to Richland again. Aunt Mitzi and Uncle Stan are coming to visit while I'm there, and we are also planning to do some "camping" at Fish hook park one night while we're there.
We've got a lot to look forward to this month! But I think most of all we're looking forward to the end of the month when Mike can be done with his rotation and we can all be home together again with life back to "normal," i.e. not worrying about boards or away rotations!
I'm not posting any pictures right now because I'm just too lazy to get them off my camera. But rest assured, pictures from this trip will be coming!
