The big bathtub

Among the new amenities we now enjoy (dishwasher, garbage disposal, in-house washer & dryer, multiple toilets, our own four walls, attached garage [with automatic opener!], cul-de-sac living, fenced in backyard...), we also have a pond and waterfall in our backyard. We filled it up the other day because we were having some friends over for a barbecue, and wanted to try it out. I wish I could capture a good night-time picture of it, because there is a lot of nice evening lighting in the backyard.
Megan likes the fountain because she can turn it on with just the flip of a switch. Robby likes it because he thinks it is a big bathtub.

When we started filling it, he came over, looked down and started say, "A bath! A bath!" Then he started leaning over as far as he could and went, "oooh, pretty! Oooh, pretty!"

I know all of you with motherly instincts are now cringing, picturing my children falling in the pond and drowning. Worry not... 1- The kids never play outside alone, and they can't even open the doors to get outside by themselves. 2- Megan knows and understands the rules governing when she can be near the pond, and Robby thinks it is "hot hot!" (because we told him it was), so he keeps his distance now, too. 3- It is better to have water in it than not, because there are some jagged rocks at the bottom (and it's about a 4 foot drop), and if a kid falls in I'd rather have the water break the fall. Since someone is always with them out there, if they do fall in, in my opinion having water in there is better.
