Megan is four years old today! Who gave her permission to age, pray tell?! Here is a run-down of the birthday festivities.
Yesterday she had her kid party, she had 7 of her little buddies come over for an hour in the morning for games, a treasure hunt, cake and presents! It went off smashingly, and not one tear was shed (not even by Robby!).

Megan wanted me to make her a carebear cake this year again (finally using the pan I bought last year), and I kind of manipulated her into choosing Funshine Bear because he has the easiest color to make for frosting, and also the easiest tummy symbol!

This morning the birthday girl woke up bright and early, and we made some donuts for a special breakfast.

After that, it was time to head to preschool, with the promise that presents would follow. Mike had today off by special request, and so he didn't miss a thing! While she was gone, I re-made her bed with her new duvet cover (which she picked out, but forgot about) from IKEA to surprise her when she came back.

After seeing her new bedroom get-up and loving it, the moment had arrived... PRESENTS!

Her big present this year was a bike, which she has wanted for a really long time!

She also got a helmet and pads to go with it from Grandma & Grandpa, and also a little apron that Gma sewed. Mike got her a special "from daddy" present of a cute little ladybug luggage set with a little ladybug matching backpack. My special "from mommy" gift was a baby doll set with a diaper bag and accessories. She has chosen to name her baby "Fanny" (good thing we aren't british). Robby gave her a Little Einstein's V-Smile game. Other miscellaneous gifts were a Mickey Mouse Yahtzee game, Princess and the Pauper DVD, and Curious George DVD.
After playing with all her new presents for a little while, Mike took her to go fishing just the two of them. She brought some books to read while they were there, and really enjoyed sitting in the shade, feeling the breeze, and reading. And yes, she reads her own books now, to herself. Reads like a literate person does, not "reading" by looking at the pictures. She's a freak of nature. They didn't catch any fish, but they did catch some grass and leaves.
For dinner we let her choose where she wanted to eat out, and the choice was Cici's pizza! She had her birthday dinner, and Daddy gave her TWO brownies for her dessert! We went straight out to the outlet malls after dinner to hit up the Crocs store which was having some big bogo sales. The kids each got a pair of crocs for $10. Then we let Megan pick out some toys at the Disney store with the birthday money her Aunt Mitzi and Uncle Stan sent. She picked two princess playsets, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Next we went to Oshkosh where I spent the remaining pre-allotted portion of birthday money on some cute fall clothing! I love the Oshkosh outlet so much, by the way!
By the time we got home from all this it was coming close to 9, so it was bedtime! And so ends the 4th birthday of Megan Marie Norton, cutesy chub extraordinaire and best-est little girl ever!
