It has been a long, not-fun three days, but finally our house here in El Paso is empty (except for the things we need/don't trust to the moving company). Now we will hang around here for five more days, then it is Hello, San Antonio! I can't believe the time has actually arrived!
It is really hard for me to explain how very differently time has passed for me this last year than in the four before it. A lot of the time, I honestly wasn't thinking about the fact that we'd be moving in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 months... and now all the sudden, our year here is up! I'm not sad about it, and not happy either... I guess I would say that the last year was just very satisfying, and now it is time for something else. I have high hopes that we will be very happy in San Antonio.
But anyway, for the next week I feel like I am on vacation! There is nothing to really clean (besides the wipe-down I'm going to give the house before we leave), barely any toys to pick up... no responsibilities left to attend to. Tomorrow we are going to take the kids to see Toy Story 3, then Saturday we're going to go to Carlsbad caverns, and late saturday night my mommy flies in to be with us! Sunday is our 7th anniversary, and stake conference (so I don't have to prepare a lesson!), Monday is my birthday, Tuesday is the day before I leave, and then Wednesday bright and early, my mom and the kids and I will hit the road eastward to San Antone!
Once we get to our new house, the days will initially be spent putting all of our stuff away, and getting things outfitted. I've got quite a bit of furniture shopping to do! I'm sure we'll settle into a new routine in no time. In August or September, I am going to begin homeschooling Megan, officially. She is too young for kindergarten this year, but way too smart for preschool. I have found a curriculum I am very excited about that is geared towards gifted learners, it is called "Moving Beyond the Page." So, yes... I'm ready to end our vacation here in El Paso and get busy being real again!

Happy Birthday Kate. I hope the unpacking and arrival of furniture from the movers goes smoothly for you. Tell you mom hi for me.
Good luck with the unpacking and homeschooling! I can't believe Megan's reading level! I was homeschooled for some of my schooling and loved it!
