The many sides of Megan

Megan is a funny girl, and she has more personality each and every day.  I would like to highlight three sides of Megan in this post.

Side #1: OCD Megan.  She won't use a toilet if she doesn't think it is clean.  And clean by Megan's standards is very hard to achieve.  I have now had 3 accounts from other people of Megan's refusing to use their toilets at their homes because they were "dirty."  Dirty in most cases just means the toilet is old and has some discoloration in the bowl, or maybe the seat's veneer is peeling.  But we have found the answer to get her to go when the toilet isn't up to her standards... if you lay strips of toilet paper over the seat, thus sanitizing it, she will use it.  So, to all my friends whose toilets we may in the future use...  when Megan tells you your bathroom is dirty, don't take it personally. Everyone's bathroom is dirty.

Side #2: Super silly Megan.  Megan now likes to make up nonsense words and blurt them out at random times.  She also enjoys giving nonsensical answers. Today Mike was playing with Megan and asked her the impossible question, "Why are you a girl?"  And Megan answered (very quickly, I might add...) "Because I'm a microwave!"  No, they were not in the kitchen at the time, so she didn't just see the microwave.  What a silly girl!  She says funny things like this everyday.  One of my favorites was when she told Mike he had a scary bottom.

Side #3: Sweet big-sister Megan.  Robby is now highly mobile, and becoming a pesky little brother.  On top of that, he throws fits if he doesn't get what he wants.   Despite this, Megan is learning to be very patient and kind to him.  She has her moments when she fights back, but usually if Robby comes up to her and tries to take what she has, instead of screaming and flipping out, she will say, "No, Rob-o-matic, I'm playing with this.  Here, you can have this toy..." and She will hand him something else, which usually satisfies him.  If Robby is sad or crying about something, she will give him a hug and tell him she loves him.  If he is getting bored, she goes and gives him a toy or a book, or she plays peek-a-boo with him or makes him laugh.  Robby loves his sister so much-- if she isn't in bed already when I put him in his crib, he cries and cries until she is tucked in too.  If Megan is there, he will quietly lay down and go to sleep (after jumping up and down and laughing and squealing with his sister for a few minutes, of course).
