On Saturday, I was vacuuming the floorboards with my hose attachment while Robby was poking around the room. I turned around just in time to see him stick his hand up under the vacuum (which was running). I had never thought about it, but I guess the vacuum brushes still spin and run as normal, even if you are using the hose attachment! His hand got stuck, and though I turned it off within about 2 seconds of his hand getting in there, it did some damage! The skin on the back of his hand was totally gone when I pulled his hand out. Surprisingly, he only fussed for a few seconds. I was way more freaked out than he was! But now he has a huge nasty wound that looks just lovely! At first I had band-aids on his hand to keep it clean (it actually didn't bleed), but they wouldn't stick because he didn't have any skin! So sad... so then I fashioned an old sock into a hobo-glove for him to wear to keep the band-aids in place. It is very stylin'.
Here are some pictures for the morbidly curious. The main purpose of this post is actually to explain why he has a nasty scab on his hand in the pictures that will be in posts to follow!
