Weekend in Pitt

We went out to Uncle Alex and Aunt Laurie's house this weekend. Since we haven't been there since April, it was about time!  There was a birthday get-together for Uncle Hal on Saturday, and Megan and Robby also got their birthday presents from Laurie&Alex and Julie&Hal at that time, since we don't know when we'll be out there next.  Those kids got some good stuff!  They are lucky to have such good great-aunts and great-uncles.
While we were there, a big wind storm hit.  It was the remnants of Ike, and it also hit in Cleveland at the same time.  Laurie, Adam, Megan and I had went for a walk after dinner on Sunday, and then went into their backyard to lay on the hammock for a little bit.  While we were laying on the hammock we heard this big "crack!" and just instinctively got up and ran away from where we were.  The big noise we heard was a HUGE limb of a tree about 20 yards away from us that just snapped off like a twig in a big gust of wind.  It was crazy!
That night when the winds were really howling (up to 60 mph), the power went out for 6 hours, and a ton more trees came down.  In the morning, it was quite a sight... trees, limbs, twigs and leaves were EVERYWHERE.  When we came back into town in Cleveland yesterday, it was the same story.  There were tons of people still without power, and we saw a lot of uprooted trees.  One even took out the front porch of a house, and very nearly could have destroyed the house completely, had it been a little taller.
