Megan has been potty trained for 9 months now, but still wouldn't go completely by herself. I would always have to do some or all of the following: go with her, pull her pants down, put her up on the seat, wipe her, take her down, pull her pants back up, etc. It was just a habit we were in, and she did not respond well the times when I arbitrarily decided that I wanted her to do it herself. So I decided there needed to be more structure about it. I just happened to have a toy in our closet that I bought on clearance after Christmas (it was like 85% off!) that I had no particular purpose for, so I thought it might work as a bribe. We made up a chart and told Megan that every day she did all the potty things all by herself she would get a sticker, and then when she had 7 stickers she would get a surprise.
Well, it was a SMASHING success. She caught on right away and over the week transitioned from having me tell her that she needed to go to the bathroom, to her telling me that she needed to go for (but I still had to tell her to get up and go), to telling me that she had to go and then going on her own, to not even telling me and just stopping what she was doing and going to the bathroom. So now she is 100% potty independent. Woohoo! I can stay on my lazy butt more!
So the following pictures capture Megan and her new surprise, as well as Megan and Robby wearing the CUTE outfits that Nana included in their Valentine's Day package. Megan's is pretty funky (and totally reminds us of Nana!) and Robby's is my new favorite Robby outfit! He looks SO cute in it, and maybe it is just me, but he seemed to behave better when he was wearing it!

Ooh! Smart Megan! Eve wishes she had a place where Jay couldn't reach her. But, no such luck. Jay LOVES to climb on her bed and try to rip down her lights and decorations and make messes. So, enjoy it while it lasts! And good job doing your potty business all by your self! I hope you like your surprise!
