Ahm-Ooh-Pee-Miss Day (ask Kyle what that means)!

We celebrated Independence Day by listening to the El Paso Symphony Orchestra performing an outdoor concert with friends, followed by fireworks. This we did within viewing distance of Mexico and the border station. And though El Paso is such a different culture (being a border town), there is still so much patriotism and appreciation for the military from the native El Pasoans. I think it is because so many of them go back and forth between the border and know well enough the difference between a country like this one and Mexico that they really do have an honest and true appreciation for what we have here. They did a special Salute to the Armed Forces medley. I wasn't quick enough on the draw to catch the Army's song, but did get the rest.

This is the second year in a row we've celebrated the fourth in a border city while listening to the local orchestra perform. I highly recommend it! I don't think I can ever go back to seeing fireworks without an orchestra performing. It is awesome! See for yourself!

Megan and Addison had a good time playing. They are in the Sunbeams together, and starting Monday will be in the same swimming lesson class.

Mike wandered off at one point to find some 3-D glasses for the fireworks, but he just came back with a big hot pile of texas taters. I think they provided the same effect.

These are our neighbors the Halls, except that is not their son on the left. That is our son. Our son wants every adult but us when we're out in a group.

Lynette (Addison's mom), and the back of Stella's head. Robby loves Stella. He calls for her when I won't get him out of his crib fast enough.

Mike: "Ooooh.... Ahhhh...."
Megan: "Ooooh?.... eeehh!!"

Okay, actually Megan and Robby both loved the fireworks, but the expression on Megan's face warranted commentary.
