Hummmmmm

We have had a hummingbird feeder up off our back porch for a while now, but I hadn't been outside during the day to see if they had found it yet. This afternoon Megan wanted to try out her new dollar store fishing game in the wading pool, so we went out there. Oh, wait-- you want to see pictures of that? Okay!
Oh, yeah, I forgot I was going to mention... Our other wading pool, which was bigger and a bit mo' betta, blew away a week ago. Oops! I knew there was a good reason to keep water in it all the time... Anyway, we got a little dinky one to replace it which was all that was left in stores.

While we were out back, in no more than 20 minutes I saw no less than 10 hummingbirds. Or more likely, 10 single instances of what may have been the same hummingbird. Mike texted me that I should get a picture. So, I was sitting there trying to catch a shot, but I think I kept startling them away. Just when I was beginning to think I'd never get a picture, and that it was probably just one hummingbird coming back again and again... TWO hummingbirds showed up at the same time. I've never seen hummingbirds fight before, but that's what these two did. They squawked at each other, and chased around a bit. The eventual victor scared the other one off, then enjoyed a nice long sip at the feeder.
