My ikea kitchen cart, aka "forhoja" (with the dots over the o's, which I can't make blogger do...), arrived today! Here are some before and after pictures of my kitchen.
Before, I had a card table in the corner with the microwave, kitchenaid, and breadmaker all squished in... it was so inconvenient to use the microwave, I would actually find ways to avoid using it. I would put off heating up lunch because it was so annoying to have to lean over everything to get at the microwave. Underneath the card table is an old tv stand that I actually don't remember why we ever put it there. It had a bunch of random junk in it.
Now, I don't have to lean over anything, and my microwave is actually at counter-height! hoorah! To celebrate, when Megan said "I want lunch!" I was like, "yes! let's heat something up!" And I could finally bring Robby's highchair up from the basement, since I now have space to have it up here without feeling over-cluttered. Yay! It feels so much nicer-- I actually don't mind being in the kitchen! I want to go bake something, now.

Kate, you're new kitchen looks fantastic! I love your Ikea kitchen cart. What a difference it makes for the area! p.s. so I set up that thing that instantly emails my new posts to people and I put you on it.. then I thought that you probably would check my blog anyway and I'm probably just flooding your inbox with my junk. :) So should I take you off the email list or do you still want them?
