Latest Treelawn Find

We were driving home from Megan's library class (which is titled "the young and the restless"-- it is for 2-year-olds) and I drove past the cutest little tikes climber with a slide, sitting out on the tree lawn. (For those of you unfamiliar, the tree lawn is the area of grass between the sidewalk and the curb.  People leave their garbage out here, and they also leave old toys, furniture, household items, etc that they want to get rid of-- free for the taking.  This is where our picnic table, basketball hoop, cozy coupe, and countless other toys came from.)  I knew it was probably an exercise in futility, but I tried to see if SOMEHOW I could fit it into our civic.  I'm pretty sure anybody who was watching from their houses were like "That crazy girl is NEVER going to fit that thing in her car."  Well, they were right.  I was about to give up when I thought, "I know! I'll call Danna!" Danna is my good friend who has a van, and only lived about .5 mile from where I was.  Danna is so awesome, she hopped right out to come help me get the toy back to our house.  It was pretty dirty, so I washed what I could off.  Some dirt is just permanent, but that's alright.  It will still be a GREAT toy for Megan and Robby to play on!  So, thanks whoever you are who decided to throw it out, and thanks to Danna for helping me get it home!

No way! I can't believe how many toys you've gotten for free. Lucky girl!!! I guess we don't have a yard, so we wouldn't have anywhere to put them anyways :(

I can see it now: A family with young children moves to Cleveland from a western state. Frustrated wife says to her husband: "I knew the crime in Cleveland was bad, but today I put our little climbing toy out front for junior to play on and when we went inside for a minute...someone STOLE it!!!"

Funny: yesterday we went outside to do sidewalk chalk, and I brought out the exersaucer for Robby to be in... obviously, it took a few trips to get everything out and ready to go. And I was really afraid someone would come by and take the exersaucer thinking I meant to leave it up for grabs. I felt like that guy in the riddle with the canoe that can only hold on animal, and the fox, goat, and the bag of grain.
