Mehdia Mittens

As we were getting all bundled up to go outside today, Megan kept asking for her "mehdia" mittens.  In the past few days, she has been talking about random jibberish things in vivid detail, so I thought this was another such case.  (Example of random jibberish thing:  She told me the other day that her cousin Breelynn has a "pen-neh-cuh" that "eats the Care Bear's bodies.  And it says, 'wa-hoo! I eat the care bear's body!' And they are crunchy." I don't know Jaclyn, any clue what that might be about?) But as she was more insistent that she really had "mehdia" mittens, it finally dawned on me what she was saying. 

Idiot Mittens.

Bill Cosby has a routine where he talks about "idiot mittens."  Since Megan actually does have a pair of idiot mittens, I think I must've referred to them as that in front of her and she remembered it.  This all made me really want to hear Bill Cosby talking about idiot mittens again, but I couldn't find it in audio.  I did find a transcript, however! "I remember standing in that schoolyard with 27 snowsuits on and my idiot mittens. You know, the idiot mittens are the ones with the string that go up your arm and around your neck, and the cool thing about it is, if you talk in the left hand you can listen in the right: "Hello? How have ya been? I see. Alright, fine." Find another kid with idiot mittens on, you run up and pull his left mitten and he smacks himself in the face with the right. Pow! Yeah, I used to love to do that, boy.
